Having had the privilege of visiting London many times over the years, one of my favorite places to go is Borough Market — an amazing food market dating back to the 13th century. It covers several acres of ground and has passageways from one area to the next.
In one of the long passageways there is a series of chalk boards on either side where people are encouraged to write out the goal they want to accomplish before they die.
Chalk hangs on string so that people can record what they want. Reading all the different types of things people want to accomplish is so cool!
Someone wrote they want to ‘pat an elephant,’ which is awesome, another wrote, ‘See my 2 boys grow up happy,’ and even one wrote, ‘Before I die, I want to get arrested!’ Yikes!
Every time I visit, it reminds me we all want different things, for different reasons, at different times.
And regardless of what you accomplished in 2022, the New Year is just around the corner. It is time now to recharge, refocus, and write down what you will accomplish in 2023.
As the famous line by author Tracy McMillan stated, “Everything works out in the end. if it hasn’t worked out yet, then it’s not the end.”
