Every time I send out a tip, I receive numerous emails from readers like you—some asking further questions, others sharing how the tip resonated with them. Occasionally, a reader will send a story that relates to business success.
Here is one such story a reader saw and sent in—original author unknown.
My 22-year-old graduated last spring and finally, just last week, landed her BIG job. She’s super excited. She had a two-hour first interview, and afterward, her 77-year-old grandmother told her she really should send a handwritten thank-you note.
At the second interview, the boss said they loved her résumé, portfolio, and great references.
But it was that handwritten thank you that sealed the deal. He had never received one.
Ask yourself:
Am I sending thank you notes to prospects I want to do business with—thanking them for taking my call or meeting with me?
“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.”
