We often talk somewhat casually about surviving storms, life and business challenges, and the things life brings us—and that’s fine. It’s often how we cope.
However, on September 23, 2024, I was leaving a speaking engagement in West Palm Beach, Florida, headed to Sarasota on I-95—leaving for a speaking engagement in Cannes, France, the next day—or so I thought.
Suffice it to say, the accident I was involved in gave me a new perspective on thankfulness. Life-flighted to the hospital in West Palm, with a severed main artery (A.K.A. bleeding out from the seat belt), blinded in one eye, broken teeth, a severed plantar fascia, and a severed Achilles tendon, I am thankful for the doctors and therapists who helped me recover fully and get me back to doing what I love to do!
And to the clients who graciously postponed my appearances in the fall of 2024 into 2025—thank you—except for one who wanted a deposit refund and then canceled my contract. But then again, we all know there’s always one. (LOL)
And, of course, I am most grateful for all the prayers and support from my family and friends.
So, whatever you are going through—or have survived—take a moment this Thanksgiving and give thanks.
As I so clearly remember a line from one of my favorite movies, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: “It all works out in the end, and if it hasn’t worked out, it’s not the end.”
And for those of you who, like me, have faith, I constantly had to remind myself of the scripture that says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”
In a newly revived spirit of gratitude, have a Happy and Grateful Thanksgiving.
And always feel welcome to reach out—I know for sure I am here for you!
