You can do educational programs on topics people care about, such as getting your child a scholarship, protecting yourself if you are sued, affording the home of your dreams, affording the retirement you have rightly earned, keys to saving money on taxes, how to lease a car, and so on.
The most valued educational events, however, are those that don’t just tell people what they need to do but rather – give them the actual steps they can take to get it done.
When you share the “how to,” it prompts people to see you for what you really are: the person who knows how to help them get what they want. When attendees see that, they are motivated to reach out and do business with you.
Too many educational/informational events get very low ROI because the information is not actionable, so people dismiss it as not viable or doable. Worse, prospects and even clients see it as a thinly veiled sales pitch and not something they would want to do with you.
You may also think or have been told that giving out too much “how to” detail can cost you business. But that argument comes from a mindset of scarcity. Give people the direction, the help, and the information they need, and abundance will flood your business—and your life!
