A Tale of Two Branches – From Frustration to Fulfillment

Have you ever needed to get a roll of quarters for parking meters, the laundromat, the car wash, the vending machine or for your business?

Last week I needed a couple rolls of quarters  to keep in my car console for parking meters. I walked into a Crews Bank and Trust branch in Sarasota.

I handed the teller a $20.00 bill and asked for 2 rolls of quarters please. He said “Do you have an account here?” I said, “No I was just walking by and saw you were open.”

He said, “If you don’t have an account, we can’t help you.”

Ok then…I thought, let’s see if another bank does the same thing. I stopped into a branch of Centennial Bank, handed the teller $20.00, and asked for two rolls of quarters. She said, “My pleasure” and handed me two rolls of quarters and said, “What else can I do for you today ?”

I asked her, Why didn’t you ask me if I had an account here, like the bank down the street did?”

All of us can learn from her answer, “Oh sir we are here to serve people not just sell them.”
