I speak and write extensively about how relationships drive revenue. One key factor is that the more involved you are in the organizations and networks you are targeting, the more relational credibility and relational capital you have with prospects. Why is this important?

That said, choose your involvement wisely. You can:
- Volunteer to help with a project and meet more prospects. Givers gain; takers lose.
- Calendar and attend all meetings and events so prospects say, “I see you everywhere.” Visibility leads to accessibility.
- Be a sponsor of one of their functions, even if it is only morning coffee and donuts.
- Serve on a committee, such as for membership, welcoming, or special events, to rub shoulders with prospects. It shows them you are part of their network.
- Provide an informative program that is not about you but one that benefits them.
