What Is Considered Good Verbiage for Answering the Phone?
Question:
I attended a seminar you did in the Carmel office last year. It was very helpful to my group. Could you give me any suggestions on good verbiage for answering the phone. We want something that identifies our Wealth Management Advisors Group but is not so long that we can't get it said. Debora Barbour,CFM, Merrill Lynch
Answer:
Several choices are available based on the image and positioning you wish to convey:
- Benefit driven as in “Thank you for calling (name of group)–your wealth management resource”.
- Cheerful as in “We’re having a great day at (name of group).”
- Engaging as in “(name of group), How may I help you today?”
