How Do You Schedule a Client Briefing?

Question:

What do you say when you call a prospect to try to set up a briefing and they say “Call me in December”, or “Try me after the first of the year?” It seems like a put off and it's too long of lead time. How would you make sure they remember me?

Answer:

If they give you an interest signal this strong, be grateful and thank them for their interest. Respond with something like ”Would early December (or January) or mid-December (or January) be best for you?” The time will fly by but to be sure they remember you in the meantime, send a note with an article of interest—“Thought you would find this interesting—looking forward to talking with you in December/January.”
