Client Appreciation Luncheon
Question:
I am hosting a client appreciation luncheon and would like a few suggestions as to the agenda. I purposely do not want to make it "salesy." I have encouraged my clients to bring a guest and certainly want to inform them of my services/capabilities. Any suggestions as to preparing an agenda that will satisfy both me and my client’s attendees?
Answer:
Okay, lets not be “salesy” at all. A little = A lot. Greet them all with an announcement that you invited them to show your appreciation. Tell the guests that they were invited by your client, for the free food and to have an opportunity to meet you personally. Then talk about the privilege you have being a resource to them, and ensuring all of their assets are working tax efficiently. Most importantly, you enjoy being their friend in the financial service business. That’s it. Then: Meet everyone. Talk about them not you. Take pictures of all guests with their clients. Call the guests afterwards and set a time to deliver a memento (not a “photograph”) from the event. Meet with them face to face and then transition from spending time together personally to introducing yourself professionally. That’s it. Have a great event!
